Red river flood control software

Institute of Mechanics (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) has applied hydrological and hydraulic software to serve flood control in the Red River Delta and Thai Binh River.

Hydrological modeling is one of the leading tools of the system of flood forecasting and control tools that have been developed, tested and exploited.

Hydrological models function to describe the situation of collecting water on the surface of the basins from rain and concentrating water on the main rivers.

Hydraulic model has the function of describing the flow in the river system.

Later, these software will be linked together to create tools for flood control in general and flood control in the Red River Delta in particular.

At the same time, it also allows forecasting the flow into reservoirs upstream of the Red River system;operating systems of reservoirs (Son La, Hoa Binh, Thac Ba and Tuyen Quang);predicting water level and flow at important locations in downstream (Hanoi and Pha Lai).

Currently, these tools are being applied in some places such as the Central Hydrometeorological Center, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Institute of Mechanics. , Vietnam Institute of Science and Technology.

It is known that many of the above software products are highly appreciated.
