The team at Sinai Mount Hospital in New York (USA) examined 14 patients with atopic dermatitis by giving them a Chinese tea, cream and acupuncture for more than 8 months. As a result, these patients have dramatically reduced severe itching, redness and improved quality of life.
All (except one patient) had an improvement of up to 60% of eczema's itching after just over 3 months of treatment. All (except one person) said their quality of life improved by 50% after 2 and a half months of treatment in this way.
The use of steroids, antibiotics and antihistamines of patients also fell sharply within 3 months from the start of new therapy.
Despite these positive results, the team still said patients should discuss with their doctors before starting treatment in a new way.
Eczema is an atopic dermatitis (atopic dermatitis), which causes patients to often develop blisters or cloudy rashes, causing severe itching, easy ulcers and infections.
