On August 27, through the hotline for wildlife protection, ENV received information from people about a coffee shop in Kon Tum province that is keeping an individual black-cheeked gibbon in Central Vietnam. to make a scene. ENV quickly transferred this information to the Police Department for Environmental Crime Prevention and Kon Tum Provincial FPD. On August 29, the functional forces conducted inspections and propaganda to explain and persuade people to voluntarily transfer the above-mentioned individuals.'It is expected that the Central Asian black-cheeked crested gibbon will be transferred to the Wildlife Rescue Center at Cu Chi to take care in the next few days , ' said Linh.

The Central Black-cheeked Crested Gibbon (Nomascus annamensis) is a new species discovered and published in 2010. They are distributed in rainforest areas of Indochina and southern China. The gibbon is warned that it is in critical condition and classified into group 1B of Decree 32/2006 / ND-CP, which is a group of endangered, precious and rare wildlife species that prohibit exploitation and use for purposes. trade.

Previously, on August 22, a young man in Hanoi also voluntarily transferred two individuals with 1kg weight / individual to Hanoi Forest Protection Department.
