Accordingly, the survey on the above forest area recorded 58 groups of white cheeked gibbon siki in 7 sub-areas of Khe Nuoc Trong project area, 2 groups of white-cheeked crested gibbon siki outside the boundary of the investigation area. (in the subdivisions 532, 539). Experts said that this is the area with the most number of groups and individuals of white-cheeked crested gibbon compared to other areas in the North Central region.

Scientists from the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations also surveyed the forests along the Ho Chi Minh West branch from the Monkey Bridge to the Heaven Gate and recorded 9 brown-shanked ducks with numbers about 98 to 108 individuals.

Dong Chau - Khe Nuoc Trong forest area in Le Thuy district was proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to Quang Binh province to plan a future nature reserve to 2020, covering an area of ​​about 20,000 ha. The International Conservation Organization identifies it as a key biodiversity area in the biodiversity corridor connecting Vietnam and Laos. This area is considered to have high biodiversity with many animals, many of which are endangered and endangered globally such as saola, pangolin, and large , brown foot patch .

White cheeked gibbon siki, with scientific name Nomascus leucogenys siki, belongs to group IB (endangered, precious and rare forest animals). This species is a small genus of white cheeked gibbon (Nomascus leucogenys) mainly inhabiting Laos forests bordering Vietnam and North Central forest area. Currently, scientists still do not have adequate statistics on the number of people living in the natural environment in Vietnam.
