Restoring the face of ancient Vietnamese people

Dr. Nguyen Van Viet, Director of the Center for Southeast Asian History, has restored the ancestor's " face " from the skulls of thousands of years of age. It is expected that in mid-2007, a complete collection of 5 Dong Son people will be displayed.

Dr. Nguyen Van Viet confided, he studied hundreds of X-ray films of the faces of the present people in the Red River Delta. He also went to Germany and some countries to learn the experience of restoring the face from a skull box.

The " ancestor " that Dr. Viet chose to build his face was a young girl, buried at the current cave of Dong Xa, Hung Yen province. According to the burial clothes and scientific parameters, this woman died when she was just 17 years old, wisdom teeth had a new one, with new ones. According to Mr. Viet, the scale of the teeth is quite high, probably because at that time, the relatives ate a lot of raw food, so the jaw had to chew several times.

There are now 5 Dong Son skulls to be recreated: Two women and three men of different ages and skull types. These skulls were selected in 60 Dong Son skeletons, excavated at the ancient burial place of Dong Xa, Hung Yen in late 2004.

Restorators of the Southeast Asia Prehistoric Center took more than 6 months to cleanse and attach these bones. To be able to reconstruct the selected portraits, the team gathered all the software correlation indicators published by Russian, British and American scientists. At the same time, they took 100 X-rays and collected and studied more than 100 sets of teeth of modern Hung Yen people.

On the basis of comparing and analyzing international and Vietnamese indices, after assessing age, gender and racial characteristics, portraits of these skulls were created according to Gerasimov's method of mechanical transplantation. using linkage benchmarks (Gerasimov, in Russia, builds the correlation index between software thickness and skull background). Indicators used for Dong Son skull are calibrated on the basis of analyzing X-ray images and ancient nutrition rules.

Researchers are building a laboratory to build the human face and preserve the first submerged archaeological timber in Southeast Asia in Quang Yen, Quang Ninh. The Dong Son remains have recreated the portraits that are being completed to restore the body and the clothes in accordance with the fabrics and how to weave custom clothes. It is expected that in the middle of 2007, the Center will launch the public and the 5 Dong Son scientific community to be completely restored first of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
