According to the Jerusalem Post, Salignostics has successfully conducted clinical trials with more than 300 women in Israel, both pregnant and non-pregnant, and completed thousands of analytical trials.
This company is in the process of applying for the European Union (CE) certification mark.
Saliva contains more than 5,000 identified proteins that mirror a person's blood physiological state. Salistick can detect pregnancy hormone β-hCG in saliva and offers high accuracy rate in early pregnancy.
Dr Guy Krief, Co-Founder and Deputy CEO of Salignostics said: 'Saliva is key to rapid diagnosis for many medical reasons. In essence, it is the only non-invasive, easy and hygienic means of detecting hormones, viruses and even diseases.
Mr. Krief emphasized that Salignostics is bringing a pregnancy test product that completely replaces blood and urine testing methods.
The global market for pregnancy test kits is estimated at more than $2 billion annually, with hundreds of millions of test kits sold each year.
In addition, Salignostics has also launched a test kit for Covid-19 antibodies in saliva. This product has been properly licensed for use throughout Europe. So far, the company has supplied hundreds of thousands of Covid-19 test kits to Europe and Africa.
The results are collected based entirely on saliva analysis and the same underlying technology. Since the technology is not a specific biomarker, it could be replicated and used for a variety of purposes, such as finding the SARS-CoV-2 virus and even detecting malaria.
