RIM introduces the latest BlackBerry version
Yesterday (February 12), BlackBerry device maker Research In Motion (RM) released the latest version of its high-end e-mail mobile line for business users.
BlackBerry 8800 will appear on the US market on February 21 to be provided by Cingular Wireless for $ 300 (two-year contract with suppliers). The 8800 version will bring much more multimedia features than the 8700 version that RIM launched late in 2005.
RIM says the 8800 is the slimmest BlackBerry version today (0.55-inch), 0.2-inch thinner than the 8700 model. The 8800 version is less than 8700 but slightly taller.
Some key features of the BlackBerry 8800 include: GPS navigation, satellite (mainly for driver wings); music player; Expanded memory card slot (microSD) . The BlackBerry 8800 does not have a digital camera because RIM thinks that many entrepreneurs will not want this feature by fear of security or privacy issues.
