Robocar - the new young intellectual contest

On the morning of May 24, 2008, Bach Khoa Gymnasium was heated up by the final round of the 2008 Robocar Multi-Function Self-Propelled Design Competition. VTC's Competition co-organized for the first time in Vietnam.

Self-propelled robots conquer the peak of glory

The Robocar 2008 self-propelled creative design competition with the theme of 'Glorious peak conquest' was launched in September 2007 and played qualifying on May 17. With 30 teams of Hanoi University of Technology registering to participate, 15 teams qualified to qualify and 8 excellent teams have reached the final round.

Entering the final round, thousands of students blew up the arena by cheering applause when 8 brave Robot teams appeared on the stands. The immediate challenge is the rugged terrain including: sandy desert; mountains; Ocean; The fastest identification and rolling of targets. How to program a smart robot to overcome obstacles with a single push of a button is the task of the participants in the contest.

The first, second, and third teams receive prizes.

Most impressive is the Supercar team (Department of Waterway Bridge) with the idea of ​​intelligent programming robot conquering the glorious tower that does not directly cross the ocean. After crossing the sandy desert, Supecar's Robot Hill has left the ocean to cross the bridge. The witnesses thrilled by the small bridge of robots are easy to fall into the sea.

Finally, the team reached the finals of the semi-finals, and won three finals.

The most significant result was the BK Mech team, the second prize of Hummer X5, the third prize went to Supercar and many other encouragement prizes. Captain BK Mech (class of making 6-k49 HCMUT, hugging the cheerful gold medal: 'Although the group has been struggling for months, the competition gives us much knowledge and experience. Prospects a new intellectual playground

'Unlike Robocon, Robocar is a self-propelled creative competition, the operator only presses once and the robot controls itself to overcome obstacles to conquer the peak. Robots must integrate multi-disciplines from engines, cars, ships, automation . and the investment price should not exceed VND 10 million. The products of the contest will continue to be researched and applied in practice ' - Dr. Le Anh Tuan - Lecturer of Hanoi University of Technology, Head of the Competition Organizing Committee said.
