According to Reuters , the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos) plans to test launch the Angara-A5 rocket from the Vostochny spaceport in the Amur region, Russia's Far East region on April 9.

However, a technical problem caused the launch to be cancelled. It is known that this is the first launch of the Angara-A5 heavy rocket from the newly built launch pad at Vostochny airport.

RIA news agency quoted Director of the Russian Space Agency Yury Borisov, saying this decision was made due to a problem detected in the pressurization system of the oxygen tank inside the rocket.

The heavy-lift rocket is the first designed in Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union, and is expected to lift Russian space station modules and satellites into orbit.

This is also the fourth launch of the Angara-A5 rocket and takes place nearly 10 years after the first test flight. All previous launches took place at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, located in northern Russia.

It is planned that in the future there will be a more advanced version of the Angara-A5M , capable of carrying larger payloads into orbit.

The launch of the Angara rocket is an important premise. Russia is expected to use this same rocket to launch modules to build its own space station in 2027. Along with that, Angara-A5 will also bring manned ships to this space station.
