Russia strengthens the safety of nuclear power plants

Despite the political and technological complications, Rosatom, the Russian Atomic Energy Agency, completed construction and commissioned the Busher Atomic Power Plant in Iran. At the same time, this year, Rosatom also signed 21 contracts to build atomic power plants abroad, including Vietnam, India, Belaus, Bulgaria, Turkey, Armenia, Bangladesh and China. This figure is nearly double compared to 11 contracts signed in 2010.

At the same time, after the accident of Fukushima, Russia has retrofitted domestic nuclear power plants with diesel pumps and generators, upgraded these plants, built new modern generators. and put into operation the fourth unit of Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant with the most modern technology today.
Rosatom Sergey Kirienko, General Director, affirmed that improving nuclear safety is one of the group's top priorities in 2012 and the coming time. From now until 2030, Rosatom plans to increase its total revenue to 5 times and reach 75 billion USD.
