Many truck drivers and motorcyclists had to stay on this road for 3 days. They were forced to buy food and drinks from roadside cafes at expensive prices. Meanwhile many gas stations have no gasoline to sell. Some of the popular kitchens are also set up on the sidewalk to serve drivers.

According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, in addition to setting up heating stations and providing hot food, the agency has established a hotline to support drivers. Minister of Emergencies Vladimir Puchkov also inspected the area with helicopters to direct the handling of the situation.

Until dawn this situation seemed to have been overcome when the Ministry of Emergencies issued a notice saying: 'The entire M-10 motorway is open for cars and buses'.
