According to the Northern Delta Hydrometeorological Station, this extraordinary cold spell is caused by the cold air coming in with quite strong intensity, affecting the North and North Central region. This is a rare occurrence in the middle of summer.

"Usually from April to April, the whole Northern region suffers from heat and not feeling cold, even cold in highland like this ", a meteorological official said.

However, despite strong intensity, cold air does not control the daytime temperature of summer because in the middle of the afternoon, it is sunny. Tomorrow morning (May 18), cold air weakens, temperatures in the North rise, Sapa and mountainous areas are no longer cold in the morning.

According to the meteorological station, in the beginning of next week, the North will continue to receive a strong cold air, rain on a large scale, some places with heavy rain and thunderstorms. The weather continues to cool.
