Cold air causes the thermal background in the North to fall below 25 degrees, while in the mountainous areas the temperature is below 23 degrees. By the night of October 16, the lowest temperature in the delta and Hanoi could fall below 20 degrees.

The northern mountainous and midland provinces will fall below 18 degrees. Places such as Sa Pa, Sin Ho, Mau Son or Pha Din peaks can also be reduced to below 15 degrees.

This cold is expected to last until October 18. From October 18 onwards, when the rain in the North decreases, the sun shines and the temperature will increase gradually. The sunny weather will be maintained until the end of next week.

Due to the influence of air flax, combined with the circulation of Typhoon Khanun, in the North from October 16, there will be widespread rain, in which the North East region and Hanoi will be the areas with heavy rain .

Meteorological agencies forecast, in the winter-spring season of 2017-2018, cold tends to appear later than the average of previous years. It is likely that in January, February 2018, there will be long lasting cold and cold spells (7-10 days).
