1. Tongue almonds - destination of taste signals

In the latest study from Columbia University in Nature, scientists have realized that the pathway from the cerebral cortex senses taste to the amygdala (amyglada, which controls emotions). there is a difference when we taste different tastes.

Specifically, when the two mice drank sweet and bitter water, they found that the neuron signal to the amygdala was different. When rats taste sweet juices, the positive signal in this region is superior to normal.

In contrast, when tasting bitter water, the tracking laser showed a lot of negative signals in the amygdala. And these signals accompany their unpleasant behavior when tasting this "hard to swallow" water.

Charles Zuker, the head of the study, said: "The taste is responsible for two very special tasks for humans. One is to help people distinguish the taste of food. The second is to coordinate and note what food is needed for the body ".

Thanks to the positive response caused by the amygdala, the human brain recognizes that sweet is the "savior" for emotions. Therefore, we humans tend to prefer foods that contain more sugar.

The "catch the font" is psychologically, the sweet craze keeps growing.

2. Dopamine - a transmitter that makes us addicted to sweets

Along with the positive signal from the amygdala, the hormone dopamine has dominated us, making us fascinated to enjoy sweets constantly.

Dopamine makes yourself more excited and want to eat more sweets.

According to experts from the Nutrition Nutrition Institute, when people eat sweets, the brain releases a type of neurotransmitter - dopamine makes it more irritating and wants more sweets.

The more dopamine is released, the more positive feedback from the amygdala is transmitted. Our cognitive system will note that the more sweets we eat, the more energy our brain will have, as well as being stimulated to function better.

However, drinking or eating sweets too much is never good .

The risk of chronic diseases with many complications such as diabetes, fatty liver, obesity, etc. is always a health hazard if we do not know how to control the use of sugar-containing foods regularly.

For this reason, Zucker and his colleagues are still working on a way to change the signal to the amygdala, with the aim of reducing this potentially dangerous "sweet craving."

Moderate control of diet, sweet food is what everyone should do. Drink less milk tea, eat less sweet, not only good for your health but also save your wallet!
