Sci-fi dreams come true in 2014
India's successful endeavor and some new advances in the study of the red planet or the first time the comet probe is a remarkable milestone this year , realizing the dream that is only available in science. Fiction.
India conquered Mars
On September 25, the probe Mangalyaan arrived at Mars orbit, marking India's first successful attempt to study the red planet.

Mangalyaan is launched from the Sriharikota space base, located on the Bay of Bengal on November 5, 2013. As scheduled, it will orbit the red planet for at least 6 months, with the task of recording images and collecting scientific data. Thus, scientists can study Mars's weather system, find methane gas in the air, as well as learn about water sources that are thought to have existed on the planet.
India's space program is considered a great achievement when it was successful in the first experiment, and was even more noticeable when the investment cost was only a tenth of that of the same US program. .
According to the AP, the success of the Mars Marsiter Mission (MOM or Mangalyaan) discovery program puts India on the list of countries leading the discovery of the red planet, including the United States, the European Space Agency ( ESA) and the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, India is a populous country but not rich.
On December 18, this South Asian nation tested a new missile and space on a spacecraft that could return to Earth. Many argue that experimental activities to realize the goal of bringing their three astronauts into space.
First landing on the comet
The European Space Agency's (ESA) Philae exploration robot is separated from its mother ship and landed on the comet surface of 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko at around 16:00 on November 12 (GMT). Earlier, the Rosetta spacecraft entered 67P orbit from August after a journey of more than 6 billion km in 10 years from Earth.

This is a historical event when a robot first landed on the surface of a comet. With this step, scientists hope to learn more about the components of comets and how they interact with the solar wind.
In addition to the scientific results, the mission's challenge and ambition can prove that the solar system discovery program takes a big step forward, opening up many opportunities for future research.
After two days of landing, the robot Philae falls into a state of "hibernation" due to the exhaustion of energy. Despite the pause, Philae was able to transfer 80% of the data and black and white images of the Earth.
According to experts, ESA and the robot journey proved that people can fulfill dreams that are thought to be only in sci-fi movies. Hope "wake up" Philae is still a concern of researchers.
Hope to set foot on the red planet

People have mentioned the goal of conquering Mars since the first time they set foot on the Moon. However, in that journey, amid the economic crisis, political instability and change in priority issues, the red planet became the only image in science fiction movies. With the end of the Space Shuttle era and the decision to cancel the Constellation Research Program (bringing Americans to the Moon), space trips are even thought to have no chance of revival.
45 years after the first human to the Moon, the US successfully tested the Orion spacecraft, a new step in the process of implementing the goal of conquering Mars. This is a mission to examine how important and necessary systems are for landing operations and return to Earth in the future of the spacecraft.
With this success, the world can once again hope for the goal of conquering Mars.
