Local media reported that a man who saw an under-mature seal in a forest in eastern Sweden on March 24, AFP said.
"A resident called us and said he saw a baby seal when walking in the forest. At first I thought it was a joke," Henrik Pederson, an inspector of Uppsala city police, told the company. TT news agency.
This forest is about 6km from the sea. So experts don't understand why a seal can reach the forest.
Police asked Robert Sandefors, a professional hunter, to look after the seal. Sandefors said that perhaps the seal had crawled into the forest from a certain source. He saw deep traces of snow.
According to police estimates, the seal probably crawled about 3km on the frozen surface of the sea. After going to the forest, he continued to crawl for another 3km.
"Certainly he lost his mother and identified the wrong direction in the process of moving , " Sandefors told Swedish radio.
The seal has been dropped into the Dalaelven river near the forest.
