A new study in the United States shows that listening to loud music leads to temporary hearing loss in adolescents, according to Healthday.

Researchers at the House Research Institute said a small-scale study found that 72% of teens suffer from hearing loss after attending a three-hour concert. This condition leads to temporary hearing loss, but will disappear within two days. However, this happens often, temporary hearing loss will get worse.

Lead researcher Dr. Jennifer Derebery at the House Institute said: 'Young people need to be aware of personal music players like earphones or concert noises that can lead to temporary hearing loss.'

Dr. Derebery cautions that temporary hearing loss may recover afterwards, but repeated loud listening can lead to hearing loss and nervous system damage in adolescents and even adults. .

Researchers tracked 29 teenagers attending the concert, 15-18 seats away from the concert hall, showing that 53.6% of the audience did not hear as well as before the concert, and 25% of those young people have tinnitus.

The study was presented at the Otologic Society Conference (USA) and will be published in Otology & Neurotology.
