A recent study in psychology has shown that doing so is extremely beneficial for people whose daily work is not related to manual labor.

Psychologists Mc G. Berman, John Jonides and Stephen Kaplan of the University of Michigan conducted two experiments to test how interactions with the natural environment and the urban environment affect how Attention and memorization process on many objects.

In the first experiment, a group of volunteers divided into two groups with predefined tasks related to attention and memory. This walking in a large park, walking the streets in crowded streets. After that, they returned to the lab and checked the assigned tasks.

The results are remarkable. In the first experiment, the memory and attention of the walkers in the park improved greatly, but the walks around the streets were the opposite. Not only that, in the second experiment, the people who viewed the natural photos when checking were also better on the attention and memory than those of the city viewer.

The authors argue that the urban environment creates relatively complex images and is very confusing and distracting, requiring classification and analysis. The opposite natural environment provides images that not only calm the mind, but also work well together, without trying to remember.
