See the world's most rare and beautiful pearls of snake

Scientists in China hope the most beautiful and rare snake eggs will hatch this week.

Dr. Ding Li and colleagues at the Chengdu Institute of Biological Research, China, discovered a pair of pearl-rimmed snake rats under the small slit in the mountain in Song Laba Nature Reserve in Sichuan Province in 2014 .

The skin of this snake has a pattern like a pearl ring wrapped around the body, so the team considers it the "most beautiful snake in the world". Less than 20 individuals have been recorded since the snake was first discovered in Sichuan province in 1929.

Dr Ding Li's team spent three years trying to breed rare snake species by artificial methods. They have created a natural environment to encourage them to mate science centers in Sichuan Province, China.

Adult individuals can be up to 120cm long.

Dr. Ding said it took two years for his team to determine the ideal temperature and light for the snake. The female successfully mated and laid 3 eggs on July 21 last. They hope the eggs will hatch this week. Data show that the snake snake is growing healthy in eggs.

China's endemic snake species usually lives at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,700 meters above sea level in Sichuan province. Their habitat is similar to the environment of large pandas.

This snake's favorite food is the mouse.

Ding said the pearl-edged snake likes to live in calm, sunny valleys. Adult individuals can grow up to 120cm long, while the average length is from 80 to 100cm.
