According to climate change scenarios, at the end of the 21st century, the annual average temperature in our country increases about 2-3 o C, the total annual rainfall and the rainy season rainfall increase while the dry season rainfall decreases. Sea level can rise from 75cm to 1m compared to the average period of 1980-1999.

If the sea level rises by 1m, there will be about 40% of the Mekong Delta area, 11% of the Red River Delta area and 3% of other provinces in the coastal area will be flooded. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City will be flooded over 20% of the area; about 10-12% of our population is directly affected and lost about 10% of GDP.

However, besides the negative impacts, climate change can also be a driving force for the formation and development of new consumption patterns; technological innovation towards environmental friendliness; improve competitiveness in the world market; opening new markets for energy technology and goods; services towards low carbon emissions; Technology transfer; approach international financial institutions on climate change.
