Recently, we talked more about resources such as bauxite in the south, titanium ore in the central region, rare earths in the northwestern region . We geologists feel very satisfied, because of the surveys. and my discovery has brought a new vitality to the economy of the country.

How do you assess our geological industry today compared to the world?

In 1986, our General Department of Geology organized the Indochina Geological Conference. Also since 1986, the IGCP (International Geological Contact) of UNESCO offers a number of journals for Vietnamese geologists to publish documents "Stratum and sedimentary basins in Vietnam".

In 1994, for the first time in Southeast Asia, I was accepted by the IGCP as Head of Project No. 306 "Southeast Asian strata matching" and the following year with my colleagues organized an International Conference on "Geological Southeast Asia and surrounding areas".

Thus, it can be said that the international geological organizations, especially the East and Southeast Asia Geological organizations, highly appreciate the activities of Vietnamese paleontologists in particular, and Vietnamese geologists. in general.

Their efforts, including paleontologists, have been recognized by the State with the project of the Vietnam Geological and Mineral Map Award, awarded Ho Chi Minh Prize for Science and Technology in 2005.
