Many foreigners said they wanted to open a company and work in the US Silicon Valley. However, the US government's strict immigration requirements and complicated procedures prevented many from fulfilling their expectations.
Blueseed High-tech Sea Perspective
To solve this pressing problem, Sunnyvale-based Blueseed has come up with the idea of building a Silicon Valley at sea. The high-tech complex, called Blueseed , is expected to be built on international waters off San Francisco Bay (USA), for foreign technology businesses that cannot open companies in the US.
According to Daily Mail , Blueseed complex has a combination of architecture of spacecraft, aircraft ships and oil rigs. Silicon Valley at sea will be able to provide workplaces for 1,000 people with the full range of living, entertainment and dining conditions on land.
Although placed in international waters, the Blueseed Marine Technology Complex will be registered in a country that has a reliable and favorable legal system for business, be it the Bahamas or Marshall.
Operation on this complex will be subject to the laws of the country of registration. People working in Silicon Valley at sea will use temporary business or travel visas.
Currently, Blueseed Company is actively seeking investors for the project. Peter Thiel, founder of PayPal, said he would head the Blueseed financial search team because he was always supportive of building an autonomous city on the sea.
Blueseed wants to find an investment of between 10 and 30 billion USD within the next year and a half. The goal of this company is to start building Silicon Valley at sea by the end of 2013.
