The first new feature is probably "conference calling", allowing more than 10 people to join the meeting at a time. To take advantage of this feature, users are required to use Skype version 2.0 and the computer must be equipped with Intel Pentium D, Pentium Extreme Edition or Viiv chips; or the laptop must have a Centrino Duo dual-core processor.

The conference feature will make the most of the power and ability to handle multiple tasks of Intel dual-core chips simultaneously.

Also later this year, Skype is expected to add video calling features based on dual-core chip technology.

Last year, eBay bought Skype - a provider of a variety of VOIP services such as computer-to-computer calling; call from computer to phone network .
