OmniVision Technologies, based in Santa Clara, California, USA, has produced the OV2720 high-definition CMOS image sensor with a 1/6 inch (0.4cm) CMOS image sensor.

OmniVision Technologies, based in Santa Clara, Calif., Has produced a 1/6 inch (0.4cm) high-definition CMOS image sensor, the OV2720, and supports video at up to 30 frames per second.

The OV2720 is the smallest image sensor ever. It is used for electronic handbooks, webcams, and video conferencing applications.

OV2720 is being tested and expected to be mass-produced in June 2010.
