Sony launched 41 computers of Vaio series
The all-in-one Vaio L products introduced by the Japanese electronics company looked more like TV than computers. However, they do not support the new generation Blu-ray DVD format.
Vaio L are flat-screen desktop systems, mainly for entertainment purposes and are divided into two types of LA and LB. The LA model has a 19-inch wide screen, 1680 x 1050 pixel resolution and a wireless keyboard. It works on Intel Core Duo T2300, clocking at 1.66 GHz, 512 MB memory and 200 GB hard drive. In addition, the Vaio LA has a built-in camera, which can record movies and burn multi-format DVDs. This device is sold for about $ 2,110 and will be available in the market later this month.
Meanwhile, the Vaio LB has a 15.4-inch screen, Celeron M 420 chip, 512 MB memory and an 80 GB hard drive, but does not feature TV recording. The device costs an average of 1,500 USD.
Sony has met many ups and downs in the computer business. After a long time struggling on the desktop market, this company has made a worldwide breakthrough in the late 90s thanks to Vaio 505 - a thin notebook with a gold metal cover. In 2002, Sony became one of the fastest growing PC manufacturers worldwide. However, this success did not last long and some novel designs such as Vaio U handheld computer achieved very low sales in the US.
