SpaceX and Elon Musk before the historic flight into space
Astronaut Doug Hurley said SpaceX not only plays all-hands for the appearance of the spacecraft, but also designed and built every detail inside SpaceX Dragon to operate perfectly.
The first astronauts to fly into SpaceX's space flight will mark a historic milestone - the first time a private company brought people to space - in a very special way. Elon Musk's company has designed for two astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken own costumes with unique designs and features. They will be transported by Tesla supercar, a product from another company of billionaire Elon Musk, to the launch site. (Photo: AP).
The ideas behind the outfits of Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken came from Elon Musk himself. Billionaires owning SpaceX and Tesla are also a big fan of science fiction. In the photo, two astronauts Hurley and Behnken standing by electric car Tesla Model X will take them to the launch site. (Photo: AP).

SpaceX Dragon will be the first vehicle to fly astronauts launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), located at Cape Canavaro of Florida, after nearly a decade. The last time Kennedy Space Center put astronauts into space was the mission to launch the last space shuttle, Atlantis, in 2011. (Photo: AP).

Preparing for the May 27 mission, SpaceX designed and produced these suits for astronauts. Safety is the top priority, while the flashy exterior is second. Costumes use white and black borders, not traditional orange. In the photo, astronaut Doug Hurley in the Launch Entry Suit (LES - Initial launcher outfit) is often used in shuttle missions. According to Benji Reed, the director of the mission this time, the request made for space suits is comfort and inspiration. "But most importantly, it was designed to ensure the crew is safe," he said. In the photo, the astronauts of three astronauts Alan Shepard, John Glenn and Virgil I. Grissom in 1961. (Photo: AP).
On launch day, Hurley and Behnken were brought into the crew area in Kennedy. SpaceX technical staff will help them wear seamless, double-layer pressure suits. This is the first time a private company launched a rocket to send people into space. So far, only governments in three countries have done this: Russia, the United States and China. The two astronauts will be launched at the 39A launch complex with the Tesla Model X. This is also the launch site for the Moon mission and many of NASA's space shuttle missions. (Photo: AP).
John Logsdon, founder of the Space Policy Institute at George Washington University, said the SpaceX rocket launch of NASA astronauts into space on May 27 "motivates the future to be exciting." If successful, NASA will no longer need the Russian launch site in Kazakhstan. (Photo: AP).
The historic launch also marks the return of NASA's red "worm" logo, with the letter A designed in the shape of a rocket tip and without a horizontal line. This logo has not been used for nearly three decades, from 1992 to 2020. (Image: AP).
