Spinosaurus - The huge predatory dinosaur on Earth

Scientists have discovered a huge predatory dinosaur that once lived on Earth called Spinosaurus. With the characteristics of T-Rex tyrants, crocodiles and whales, this dinosaur is also adapted to underwater life to hunt sharks.

Spinosaurus (meaning "thorny lizard") is a genus of carnivorous dinosaurs living in North Africa, living in the Alba period and Cenoman of the Cretaceous, about 112-97 million years ago. Spinosaurus is the largest known carnivorous dinosaur genus, of medium size larger than Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus. Estimates for 2005 and 2007 suggest that it is 12.6 to 18 meters long (41 to 59 ft) and weighs 7 to 20.9 tons (7.7 to 23.0 tons are missing). Spinosaurus skull is long and narrow like a modern crocodile skull.

Spinosaurus is the first terrestrial dinosaur known to live underwater. With a weight of 20 tons and a height of nearly 15m, they have a longer body than the biggest tyrant dinosaur ever discovered about 3m.

Spinosaurus also has sharp teeth and a crocodile-like muzzle, while short hind legs with strong muscles act as paddles and have many similarities with ancient whales. These dinosaurs also have strong front limbs with sharp, sharp claws and knives, which are suitable for penetrating or tearing prey flesh.

While other carnivorous dinosaurs such as T-Rex hunt on land, Spinosaurus dinosaurs hunt sharks and other large fish in deep waters.

Dr Nizar Ibrahim of the University of Chicago said: "Researching this dinosaur is like studying aliens. They are unlike any known dinosaur."

From the newly discovered fossils in the Sahara desert of Morocco and the specimens in museums, scientists have discovered the existence of Spinosaurus dinosaurs . Unlike other predators, the Spinosaurus dinosaur's legs resemble coastal birds with the ability to stand and move on soft sand. Their legs may even have membranes between the fingers.

The most striking feature of them is a row of long spine-shaped backbones, however, scientists do not think that this bone has the ability to retain heat or store fat for them.

Scientists have created a skeleton 3D anatomy model of the Spinosaurus dinosaur, allowing them to confirm its massive size.

Dr. Paul Sereno of the University of Chicago said: "What surprised us even more than the huge size of Spinosaurus is their strange body proportions. The size of the limbs of this dinosaur compared to the body is similar. with ancient whales rather than predatory dinosaurs ".
