The strong tropical storm called Sepat yesterday landed on the eastern mainland of China, where about one million people had to evacuate, killing 14 people, speeding up many homes and overthrowing billboards.

The winds of 119 km / h hit Fujian Province soon and caused the first physical damage. The land here killed two people and left another person missing. A storm-torn tornado also caused 12 deaths and more than 60 others were injured in Zhejiang Province.

To avoid damage, more than 540,000 people in Fujian Province and 370,000 people in Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces must evacuate. More than 100 international and domestic flights in the region were canceled and many main roads here were temporarily closed. The storm also collapsed a station in Fuzhou, Fujian Province and derailed a freight train.

Since Typhoon Sepat (named after a fish in Malaysia) landed in China at 2am on Sunday, heavy rains have appeared in coastal cities like Wenzhou and Binh Duong. The China Meteorological Center predicts that the storm will move northwest, towards Jiangxi province.

Before entering the mainland, Sepan stormed Taiwan island on Saturday, disrupting the power supply system, toppling many vehicles on the road and causing landslides. About 1,800 local people have to evacuate. Typhoons pass through coastal areas of Taiwan with winds of 126 km / h unchanged.

Last week, Typhoon Sepat left three people dead and 542,000 people affected, mainly by flooding, in northern Philippines. Until yesterday there were still more than 3,500 islanders who could not return home and continue to stay in the shelter.
