Strange 'lobster' lives on ... tree

A narrow and steep rocky island, taller than the famous Empire State Building in the United States, grew in the middle of the sea. It looks completely unlike a warm place to welcome you to live.

But strangely, people have just discovered there an insect that seemed to have become extinct for 80 years, almost like a lobster so it could be called 'lobster' . 12cm long and the world's heaviest flying insect, lobster has 6 legs with the scientific name Dryococelus australis.

12cm long "tree lobster", is the heaviest flying insect in the world.

As large as a person's hand, lobster trees somehow selected this place, despite the lack of food and harsh living conditions. How they got to the top of the island is still a mystery, but scientists have captured four and breed to create thousands of new individuals, avoiding them from extinction. The original individuals were named 'Adam' and 'Eva' , the scientists said. And according to an unusual love practice in insects, lobster trees have a clear pairing. At night, when going to bed, the male will use his three legs to grab the female for protection.

Location of the island Ball's Pyramid.

Ball's Pyramid - is said to have emerged from the sea 7 million years ago, in the area near Lord Howe Island off Australia. The Empire State Building is 1,250 ft tall, only 2/3 of Ball's Pyramid's height. All sides of the stone island are inverted and almost no living thing can live. But somehow, lobster trees have done wonders.
