Strange objects caught fire on the top of Chinese mountains

People in a village in Shaanxi Province, China, appear bewildered when they encounter a mysterious object falling from the sky to the mountain, forming a large crater on the ground.

Zhangjiapan villagers in Shaanxi Province, China, said they heard a loud explosion and saw an object falling into the top of the mountain, People's Daily Online reported on Dec. 15.

People dragged to the scene to find a fiery crater of 0.9 meters long, nearly 0.6 meters wide and pieces of deformed metal.The fire was extinguished and there were no reports of injuries.

A piece of metal is found inside the crater.

A man named Zhang said he heard an explosion at about 1 pm on December 9 and saw the object fall.

"It caused a loud explosion when it landed. Then it started to burn. The nearby dry grass dust quickly caught fire," Zhang said.The metal disk-shaped fragment was riveted by people at the scene.

According to HSW.cn, police found debris that could be related to the incident in three locations in the southwestern district of Fugu.The debris falling near the crater is a large metal circle with many characters and digits on the surface.

The incident attracted much speculation on China's QQ social network.Some argue that objects fall from the alien spacecraft, while many claim that this is a fragment of a satellite or missile falling to the ground.Police are investigating the incident and all three fragments have been taken for inspection.
