Students manufacturing gasoline-electric vehicles
A model of gasoline-electric hybrid cars has just been completed by a group of 4th year students, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
Instead of walking, this car will help people move in narrow spaces like industrial parks, school campuses or entertainment areas .
Vehicles used in combination with gasoline - electricity and solar cells. 6 horsepower engine, capacity of 0.1l; electric motor 400 W. The car has 4 speeds and 1 reverse speed. Winning system consists of 4 disc wins. The difference of a gasoline-electric hybrid is that the engine is mounted at the rear of the car (instead of being attached to the front like a normal car).
The maximum speed of the vehicle is 58km / h when running on gasoline, 15 km / h when running on electricity. The system automatically charges when braking or charging from a gasoline engine when in standby mode.

According to Mr. Doan Tat Linh, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, instructors of the research team, compared to similar cars on the market, the model of hybrid cars has the advantage of fuel economy.
When gas runs out, the car will run on electricity and vice versa. On average, running 100km of vehicles consumes 2.5l of gasoline. ' Cars are primarily powered by electricity and solar cells. Gasoline is only a spare fuel when two other energy sources are exhausted. '- Linh emphasized.
The gasoline-electric hybrid model was completed by the research team within 2 months. The research team said that in the model manufacturing phase, the coefficients of damping, durability, noise, vibration . have been tested. With only 5 to 10 minutes of instruction, all subjects can drive, capable of ensuring high safety.
The team said, soon, the product will be more complete with the installation of additional sensors to help the vehicle recognize and report obstacles.
Model of the first hybrid car weighing 160 kg, 1.5 m long, 1.2 m wide, carrying up to 3 people. Price: 14.5 million VND / unit
