Production team Bloodhound has decided to join hands with Nammo, based in Raufoss, Norway, which will supply rocket engines for the project.

The supercar needs extra missiles and jet engines to beat the current record of 1,228 kilometers per hour, according to the BBC.

The Bloodhound is expected to be equipped with a Rolls-Royce Eurofighter-Typhoon engine to accelerate to 563 km / h, and then activate the rocket engine to reach the supersonic level.

The group will attempt to break ground speed records by 2015, before pushing the 1,600km / h threshold by 2016.

Nammo is a world-renowned company for military missile engines.
