"The amazing starter in Armata engine can help it match the temperature on Mars, maybe even interplanetary combat," the Russian newspaper wrote. This information first appeared in Russian newspaper Izvestia and was returned by the Sputnik English version of Russia.

Izvestia describes the new technology developed by Renova to help Armata's diesel engine start up in temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius.

The system uses the most advanced capacitors, to store large amounts of electricity that can be supplied to tanks even before the engine is operating.

This technology is similar to the version that appears on hybrid cars, using a battery engine that converts electricity at low speeds and then into a gasoline engine when the car accelerates.

Russia is expected to put T-14 Armata into military service after 2019.

"We experimented with a full scale to test the bootability of the tank in freezing conditions," Renova expert Mikhail Lifshits told Izvestia.

Not easily losing storage energy like hybrid cars, super T-14 Armata tanks can still boot normally after many days in a cold state.

New technology also helps Armata carry smaller rechargeable batteries, more space for crews to carry fuel and weapons.

According to the Russian newspaper, the US currently does not have the same technology equipped on the M1 Abrams main battle tank. Honeywell, the AGT1500 engine manufacturer for M1 Abrams declined to comment on the tank's ability to boot in cold weather.

American Journal of National Interest said that the Russian newspaper did not directly mention how the super-T-14 Armata will start on Mars. But the actual temperature on Mars is actually ranging from minus 60 degrees Celsius to the lowest at about minus 90 degrees Celsius.

The sound level of 60 degrees C is only slightly cooler than Russia's Siberia. Even in the village of Oymyakon, scientists had measured negative temperatures of 60 degrees Celsius, in conditions where humans could not survive.

However, Mars's atmosphere is quite diluted, which can make it difficult for the internal combustion engine of Super Armata. If Russia wants to test this main battle tank on Mars, releasing an Armata T-14 weighing 50 tons on the red planet is not a simple thing.

The most significant National Interest vehicle that people bring to Mars now is only Opportunity weighing 181kg.

It is expected that after 2019, the new generation T-14 Armata main battle tank will be officially staffed for the army.
