The heaviest element is called Copernicum
On February 24, 2010, IUPAC officially informed the world: the heaviest element was officially named Copernicum, the name of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus.The element 112 is named 'Copernicum'.
Named Copernicium to pay homage to an influential scientist in the history of human civilization, to highlight the connection between astronomy and the field of nuclear chemistry.
