ANSA news agency of Italy on 17/12 said the strain of H5N8 high-risk bird flu has been confirmed to have appeared at a turkey farm in the North of this country.

Chinese scientists voiced their alarm on February 5 after the new H10N8 bird flu virus killed an old woman in December 2013 and another infected with the virus in January 2014. t

Scientists tracking the H7N9 bird flu virus, which has killed more than 40 people since March, said they had discovered a new virus in chickens in China.
