Taiwan sponsors to improve diagnosis capacity

On August 16, the Taiwan Center for Disease Control signed a grant of US $ 300,000 for Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital to upgrade the ability to test, diagnose and treat childhood infections. This project will focus most on Entero virus 71.

Entero 71 virus is a causative agent of central nervous system infection, usually occurs in children under 3 years old. The disease develops quickly and the complication rate is very high. When entering complications, it is easy to die.

According to the Director of Children's Hospital 1 Tang Chi Thuong, this project will help the hospital improve research, diagnosis and treatment capabilities to lower the mortality rate for children infected by Entero virus 71.

Project implemented from 2006 to 2009, will help Children's Hospital I equipped with a number of modern laboratory equipment, bringing hospital personnel to training and training on your side.
