Technology detects drunk drivers for 1 second
When the driver enters the vehicle, the DADSS system will measure the alcohol content of the breath and the skin within a second. If the measured alcohol concentration exceeds 0.08% the motor will automatically turn off.
The drunk driver detection system (DADSS for short) consists of 2 sensors, measuring the alcohol concentration in the driver's breath and skin. These two sensors are located right on the steering wheel and the start button of the vehicle.

When the driver enters the car, the air around the driver's seat is sucked into the sensor. From there the device will analyze the alcohol concentration in the driver's breath. While the other sensor projects infrared light on the exposed skin at the start button. Reflected light contains information about capillary alcohol content.
The combination of both devices ensures that the results from the main driver and not the passengers accompany the vehicle. All this process takes only 1 second.
If the measured alcohol concentration exceeds the specified level, 0.08% of the motor will automatically turn off.

This is the invention of a group of American engineers. The group is currently working with automakers to bring this technology into practice.
The US Road Traffic Safety Authority (NHTSA) is also considering integrating into all types of cars, as a safety feature to avoid the risk of traffic accidents caused by drunk driving.
In the United States, each state has a different level of punishment, but it is similar in the heavy hand, and all hit the violator's economy.
If a driver is found to be under the influence of a driver (DUI) the driver will have to pay: a fine of US $ 300-1,000 for the first violation, the next time being US $ 15,000 or more, the alcohol testing fee in blood 500-1,000 USD, fee for towing the car to the storage place 300-500 USD (with custody fee, fee for taking out the car), insurance fee increased strongly (instead of 100 USD / month will be 300 - 500 USD / month) , even if you want to present / explain the violation, the police will send someone to listen to for $ 150 (just listen and receive).
In addition, violators will have to take courses and, through rigorous examinations, must attach alcohol control equipment to the vehicle (to the electric car key start unit) with the cost of renting equipment near. USD 3,000, for monitoring within a certain period of time.
In the US, Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) , also known as the index of blood alcohol concentration , is often used in medical measurements. BAC is based on the percentage of alcohol in the blood (eg 0.1% is equivalent to 0.1 gram of alcohol in 0.1 l of blood). Due to the complexity of measurement, the implementation of BAC measurements often takes place in hospitals or police stations with appropriate equipment. Brac (Breath alcohol content) indicator, also known as the alcohol content of breath . For this indicator, the most accurate measurement that can be obtained 10 minutes after the consumption of alcoholic beverages or higher, less than 10 minutes low will make the results too high and become inaccurate. The advantage of this indicator lies in its ability to easily be measured on the road with a lightweight handheld device.
