Thai Binh introduced two new high-yielding rice varieties

On September 11, Thai Binh Seed Corporation organized a seminar to introduce two new rice varieties TBR225 and TBR117 varieties.

These are all varieties created by Thai Binh Seed Corporation for high productivity and recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for trial production in July 2013.

The TBR225 variety is a cold-sensitive rice variety, has a shorter growth time and is less susceptible to rice blast disease than BC15.

The growth time of this variety for the Northern provinces in the Spring season is usually about 125-130 days, the crop season is 100-105 days; Provinces from Da Nang to the Winter-Spring crop from 105-110 days, Summer-Autumn season 100-105 days.

Through experimental production process, this rice variety has high yield, typically Nam Dinh (92.6 quintals / ha), Bac Giang (73.3 quintals / ha), Thai Binh (72.8 quintals / ha).

Unlike TBR225, TBR117 rice variety is a pure rice variety with a shorter growth period than TBR225. In the North, the growing time in the Spring crop is 120-125 days, the season is 98-102 days.

TBR117 gives an average yield of 65-75 quintals / ha, in good intensive conditions, it can reach 85-90 quintal / ha. This rice variety is well branched, the leaves are standing, hard, flowering, concentrated cotton.

Mr. Do Van Lan, Deputy General Director of Thai Binh Seed Corporation, said that these two rice varieties have been tested in many localities with different soil characteristics and have good results. In the Spring of 2014, it is possible to put TBR225 and TBR117 into the production structure of localities.
