A 2 meter long wall from Roman times in Pompei ruins in Italy collapsed due to heavy rain, the latest incident involving the old city was buried in volcanic ash 2,000 years ago.

This wall is the ruins of a house near Naples. This area has suffered from heavy rain due to bad weather.
This area has been closed to recent visitors due to danger. The closure is part of a renovation project called "Great Pompeii Project".
Archaeologists say the announcement of delayed bids is now "in preparation".
The European Union has also transferred 105 million euros for this project.
The ancient city of Pompei was buried by volcanic ash Vesuvius in 79 AD and is the world's most preserved ancient Roman city. It was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1997.
