The 2,200-year remains of the woman in the tree 'coffin'

Both the strange and solemn coffin of Celtic women 2,200 years ago attracted the attention of archaeologists.

A beautiful Celtic woman dressed in dresses and scarves, a sheepskin coat and a bead necklace made of glass beads and amber before resting in a tree coffin at the end of the Iron Age, according to the Office. Most notably is the coffin of women.The dead are buried in a hollowed tree trunk with the outer shell intact. The researchers found the remains in March 2017 in a construction project at the Kern complex in Zurich's Aussersihl district. The city archaeological department conducted an interdisciplinary examination to understand the life of a woman who lived in 200 BC.

Archaeological group is also attracted by the necklace of the tomb owner. Both ends of the ring have a stopper to string yellow glass and amber beads. The woman also wears exquisite bracelets and brass belts.

The woman's remains are only about 80 meters away from the grave of a Celtic man in 1903. The man was buried with a sword, shield and spear. Since they died in the century, the team speculated that they might know each other.
