The application allows opening and calling elevators by phone

You may find it troublesome to enter a building and have to search your card in your purse or purse. However, the good news is MyPORT, a new automated security system that was created by Elevator Schindler Company with the purpose of helping you eliminate this inconvenience.

Once installed in the building, the technology allows people who work or live there to download an accompanying smartphone app that automatically opens the door and calls the elevator for them.

Schindler's product manager - Jeff Blain said: "This idea makes traveling in the building the most convenient way."

MyPORT can also predict the time that specific users usually go and which floor they go to.

When the user walks to the turnstile in the lobby of the building, a Bluetooth sensor (installed by Schindler) will identify the phone even if it is in their purse or purse. The turnstiles will then open, the system activates the elevator and the app will tell the user which elevator they will go to. In addition, M yPORT can predict the time that specific users usually come and which floor they go to. Therefore, when the user enters the building, the system will group those who have the same destination and place them on the same elevator to be able to move conveniently and save time.

MyPORT can also learn your daily routine. For example, if you often go down to lunch at noon, the system can predict it and will automatically choose the floor or restaurant that needs to be when you enter the elevator. Blain said, the system works and connects to your phone (most likely you always carry your phone with you), so you don't need to use the card every time you go in and out of the building.

"We want to make everyone's life easier in our ability."

Because the system only allows verified carriers to enter, it is also possible to eliminate the need for a guard or a guard at the building. The system also keeps a list of those who have access to certain doors at different times and can also open the front entrance if there is a need for secure access. Not only that, app users will receive a notification on the phone and can see the video of the shipper they require. Users can let that person come in or tell them to come back later. (All of these can be programmed in the application).

This system and application for iOS and Android was released on May 19 and can be ready to serve the needs of any office building and any residential area in the world. So far, the company has piloted this system in Switzerland and San Francisco. One thing is for sure, pressing the elevator button is not too difficult and we probably don't need an application to do that. However, for blind people or wheelchair users, MyPORT can be a very useful tool.

The company has just piloted the system at the headquarters of a disabled advocacy organization in San Francisco. Blain shared that the system has significantly improved the accessibility of disabled workers. The physical director of the Center is a blind person and now with MyPORT, the door was automatically opened when she approached without using any other device.

However, there are many security concerns in the support system and access to this building. There is always a risk that if the phone is stolen, someone will be able to access the office or apartment without anyone being able to control it. In addition, this application can also be hacked. Blain is confident that Schindler can protect MyPORT from the threat of hackers and thieves, but this promise seems to be very difficult to implement.
