The boy was miserable because he grew too fast

The city of Ellensburg, Washington, USA is home to a special boy named Brenden Adams. Although he was only 12 years old, Brenden was taller than 2.1 m and he still grew up.

Brenden is higher than all his classmates and teachers. Although his friends said that Brenden was just a normal child, he obviously did not look like anyone in the school. He had to bend over the doors and sit sideways on the school desk because his knees could not be placed under the table. Brenden's paper size is 18 and this number is constantly changing.

Not just the height but everything in Brenden is different. He has large joints, fat tumors and many extra teeth. Recently doctors have to extract 12 extra teeth of Brenden.

Willnd Adams, Brenden's father, said that when he was born he looked perfectly normal with a height of 49 cm. His mother, Debbie Ezell, said she began to discover something unusual when taking her child for a checkup two months later.

"Doctors say he is too tall for his age. When he was 4 months old, his teeth were growing enough , " Debbie said.

Soon doctors told Willie and Debbie a news that any couple felt terrified.

"I have never seen a case like Brenden. The average height boy of an 8-year-old boy, though he has been in existence for 4 months. We do not know what caused him to grow so fast." Dr. Melissa Parisi of Seattle Children's Hospital recalls.

For many years thereafter, doctors continued to research to find answers to Brenden's ongoing development. He had to go to the hospital several dozen times for medical examination and X-rays. In the end, they found the cause when Brenden was 8 years old and reached the height of an adult.

"Hematologists and oncologists helped us lift the mysterious veil. Brenden's genetic material is arranged in an unusual way. It is called the reverse of chromosome pair 12 and does. This statue affects every cell in the boy's body , " Dr. Melissa Parisi said.

Chromosomes always exist in pairs, but in Brenden's case, the chromosome number 12 has a problem. Somehow - that experts have not found - a broken chromosome in the middle and attaching itself to another place, breaking an important gene that controls body growth. Experts believe that the incident caused Brenden's rapid development and many other symptoms. They expected his height to exceed 2.4 m.

Despite finding out the reason why Brenden grew so fast, doctors still can't answer the question: How to stop that situation? Some people have the idea of injecting testosterone into Brenden's body to "push" the boy to puberty sooner than his peers. According to experts, bone begins to grow slowly at puberty. It seems that testosterone injections have worked. Brenden's height is no longer as fast as before.
