On May 26, the World Meteorological Agency (WMO) announced that the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has surpassed the new level, showing the urgency of efforts to limit greenhouse gas emissions. The Earth is warming.

WMO said in the past April, the average CO ₂ concentration while the first volume exceeded 400 million parts in the Northern hemisphere, the area is more polluted than the Southern hemisphere.

This phenomenon happened in the Northern hemisphere in the spring but this is the first time the average CO ₂ level of the month exceeded this threshold. WMO added that the global average CO ₂ concentration will exceed the 400-million-million threshold in 2015 or 2016, compared with 393.1 parts per million in 2012.

According to WMO head Michel Jarraud, it is necessary to consider the change as a wake-up call about the status of emissions causing climate change. He also warned the world that there was not much time to prevent this trend from rising.
