American meteorologists have just noticed that the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased to a new record. The highest concentration of CO2 measured about 381 ppm (ppm: parts per million).

The results showed that the increase in CO2 concentration in 2005 also reached a record increase of 2.6 ppm over the previous year.

The American Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has produced the results based on gas samples collected around the world, including the Rocky Mountains (USA).

An NOAA analyst said the above figures show that the trend of increasing CO2 levels in the atmosphere is worrisome. On average, in recent years, its growth rate has doubled compared to the rate of increase 30 years ago.

" We do not see any sign of a decrease in CO2 levels. We only see factors that increase the rate of CO2 emission, " said Dr. Pieter Tans, the lead researcher.

Concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is a global concern. Meteorologists worry that this is a factor that can cause unexpected changes in the climate.

Professor David King, the UK government's scientific adviser, said that the results of atmospheric CO2 levels above require us to take urgent action to limit carbon emissions.

" Today, the concentration of CO2 exceeds 380 ppm, which is higher than it has been for millions of years, maybe 30 million years. People are changing the weather ."
