The device detects blood poisoning

In the near future, the doctor can analyze the blood and get results immediately after 20 minutes with biochips.

Biotech chips developed by scientists at the Fraunhofer Freiburg Institute for Physical Measurement (IPM), are fully automated blood test devices.

"All the doctors have to do is put the blood on the machine and wait for the results," says Dr. Albrecht Brandenburg at IPM.

The device will separate RBCs and plasma. The plasma is then analyzed by the biological chip. If the patient's blood is infected, small spots appear on the device. If the patient is healthy, there will be no spotting.

When a person has a blood infection, the immune system produces certain proteins. The antibodies in biochip like a fishing rod, it will 'question' of this protein as they appear in the blood and connected to the chip. The device can even test multiple proteins in the same test by placing multiple 'fishing rods'. This approach gives physicians additional information about the level and cause of the disease.

Each biochemical chip is used only once; But, scientists say the price of each bio chip will not exceed 1 Euro (about 28,000 vnd).

The device can also detect heart attacks, cancer, doping and urine tests or food testing.
