The doctor was surprised when he examined the old man's health for '67 years without a bath'
An 87-year-old Iranian man who has lived on the streets and hasn't showered in nearly seven decades has scientists baffled by his exceptionally good health.
Amou Haji, 87 years old, living in a small village near the desert desert in Fars province, southern Iran was dubbed "the dirtiest man in the world" thanks to a record 67 years of not bathing. In terms of appearance, he terrifies the opposite person with his skin covered with a thick layer of disgust made of dirt and dead skin, his eyes are almost hidden, and the smell is strong. But in terms of health, this old man surprised us even more.
This man's health was surprisingly good.
Recently, a team of doctors led by Associate Professor of Parasitology, Dr. Gholamreza Molavi, from the School of Public Health in Tehran, visited Amou Haji in Dejgah village and convinced him to do some basic tests, including tests for hepatitis, AIDS, parasites.
In it, Dr. Molavi and his team are particularly interested in finding and studying samples of parasites and bacteria that can multiply and grow in his unwashed body. However, to their surprise, they did not find any pathogenic bacteria or parasites except for Trichinosis - a bacteria that causes a fairly common infection, but in his case it seems to be. cause no significant symptoms.
Mr. Amou Haji has not bathed since 1954.
The discovery is particularly shocking as the 87-year-old regularly eats raw foods found on the street such as hedgehogs and rabbits, drinks untreated water from puddles out of rusty cans, and is said to smoke. . dried animal droppings for "recreation".
Dr. Molavi believes that the only reasonable explanation for the test results is that Amou Haji has developed an extremely strong immune system after decades of living in extremely harsh conditions.
Scientists also believe that this man suffers from a condition called ablutophobia - or the fear of bathing. This is a form of anxiety that manifests as a feeling of dread in the shower.
Despite her good health, 87-year-old Amou Haji often faces discrimination from the community. Many of them mocked him and threw things at the man, prompting the local Governor to intervene recently, urging people to leave him alone. Despite his scary appearance, Haji is said to be a gentle person and has never done any harm to anyone.
