According to the Ministry of Finance, the collection of fees for Vietnamese domain names will encourage the use of Internet domain names in Vietnamese, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese information to be provided via the Internet. Previously, Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC), which deployed and licensed Vietnamese domain names, has also developed and proposed domain name registration fee of about US $ 6 (equivalent to about VND 100,000).
VNNIC said, up to now, there are 13,000 .vn domain names registered and licensed, of which about 5,000 are Vietnamese domain names.
