Mario, 54, works in this zoo for 25 years. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, he wished to return to his familiar workplace and bid farewell to the animals he had taken care of for the last time.

When the hospital bed was brought here, a giraffe approached, bent down and pressed its nose to Mario's face, as if it were for someone who had taken care of it for a farewell kiss.

"The giraffes here seem to recognize Mario and realize he is not healthy," NY Daily News quoted Kees Veldboer, a member of Ambulance Wish organization.

Giraffes are an even-clam mammal that lives mainly in Africa. This is the highest animal among terrestrial and ruminant animals. The act of kissing goodbye to people who have taken care of them shows that they act quite close to people.
