This morning (November 24), at Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh), an extremely interesting natural scene appeared in the sky . A large cloud formed a 'cone' shape floating on the top of the mountain, creating an extremely strange, interesting and somewhat majestic scene that made everyone admire.

Immediately after being shared at a dizzying speed on social networks, netizens discussed quite enthusiastically. Most people were amazed when admiring the above image. Many people said that the special cloud looked very similar to Mount Fuji in Japan. Others compared this cloud to a UFO image, a natural cloud disk fixed on the top of a precarious mountain, anchored in the sky like a mother ship surveying the hills below.

Previously, a similar shaped cloud appeared on the top of Ba Den Mountain around June 2022. Although the cause is unknown, this floating 'cone' shaped cloud phenomenon is still attracting great attention from netizens.

According to the Hanoi Astronomical Society (HAS), the above phenomenon is actually Lenticular clouds . These are stationary clouds, shaped like lenses and formed in high mountain ranges. Lenticular clouds usually form parallel to the wind direction, divided into three types: Altocumulus, Stratocumulus and Cirrocumulus (respectively altocumulus, stratocumulus and cirrocumulus) depending on weather and terrain conditions.

When moist, stable air flows over a mountain, a series of standing waves (of air) can form on its side. If the temperature at the top of the wave drops below the dew point, the suspended water vapor will condense to form a lenticular cloud.

As the air stream continues down the trough of the wave, the cloud may evaporate, creating characteristic edges. Under certain conditions, long chains of lenticular clouds can form near the top of each successive wave in a cloud pattern that can extend for hundreds or even thousands of kilometers.
