The magnitude 6 earthquake shook Japan
According to AFP, an earthquake of magnitude 6 magnitude shook Aomori province and other areas in northeastern Japan.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said the earthquake occurred at 0:00 am on May 24 morning local time, or 2:40 PM GMT.
The heart of the earthquake is located off the Pacific coast, below 40 km. However, there is no warning about tsunamis yet.
The Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said it has not yet received reports of the unusual state of nuclear facilities in the two Aomori villages. Nuclear power of Tohoku Electric Power Company in Higashidori and atomic fuel facility of Japan Nuclear Fuel Company in Rokkasho.
